If You Chance To Meet a Frown, Change It For A Smile

A few nights ago when Kyan was getting Samuel ready for bed, he was singing Twinkle Little Star to him. Samuel started to sing along and actually sing more of the words then we have ever heard him sing before. So, I ran to grab my camera so I could catch the moment. But, I was just a tad too late and caught him crying about something instead. So, I switched the camera setting on my phone so Samuel could see himself. This was an attempt to let him know how ridiculous he looked when throwing a little fit. And, it worked like a charm. He started to laugh at himself instead.

You've got to check this movie out. It's funny....well, at least to us. You can make up your own mind. :)

March Madness

Okay, so this has nothing to do with sports teams but this does have something to do with the crazy madness of waking up to snow on the ground in early March. Samuel and I decided to take advantage of this great madness and we went outside and played in it all morning long. We even got the neighbors to join in the the fun!

The kids made a little snowman but it got rolled over by the neighbor boy. It was quite funny, really.
This is a little movie clip of the kids and the destruction of our poor snowman.

Samuel and I decided to make another snowman. He had a great time adding snow to our little creation.

Later this month I also was asked to make a dessert for a church auction. So, I decided to make two lemon meringue pies. One for the auction and one for us. This pie was to die for. Oh yum. The meringue was fluffy and delightful and the lemon filling was rich and deliciously lemony. Did I say, Yum! Any person in their right mind would go mad just to get their hands on one of these pies. They really were good.

Discovery Park, Here We Come!

Kyan and I both knew that Saturday was going to be a beautiful and sunny day. We had to make a tough choice. Should we go see the new and much anticipated Hunger Game movie with friends at 1:35 in the afternoon before we went to our Hunger Game party that night? Or, should we spend the day outside in the sun?

I think it took us a matter of five minutes or less to decided that being outside in the sun had won! We decided to pack a lunch and take a little drive to Discovery Park in Seattle. It was B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. and well worth missing the movie....I think. We haven't seen it yet so at least we don't know what we're missing. :)

Discovery Park has some outstanding views. This day happened to be a bit windy and a little chillier then we had expected. The sun didn't really come out and warm thing up until after we left the park. Oh well, it was still a wonderful experience.

When we stopped for lunch, we let Samuel play in the sand and rocks for a little bit. He had a great time until we told him he had to leave the rocks behind. In order to calm his broken heart, we let him take a few small rocks back with us. He held onto them the entire hike back to the car.

We saw this Bald Eagle on our hike back. It was quite the site to see. The poor eagle looked a little tattered and frayed. I'm thinking either it's had a rough few goings or it is a seasoned bird. It was neat to see.

A Weekend of Family

We had a weekend in February where we attended a beautiful family baptism and a baby blessing. It was fun to see in-laws and Samuel loved playing with his cousins.

Samuel loves babies. Every time he see a baby he wan'ts to give them hugs and kisses. It's quite cute.

This cute girl all dressed in white was the one getting baptized. She's sitting next to her proud Daddy.

Samuel is having a moment....normally he LOVES Grandpa but I think he was afraid that by sitting next to Grandpa that he couldn't play with his cousins anymore.

This sweet gem is the little sister to the one who got baptized. She was blessed in church the following day. Don't you love those cheeks. I just want to squish them and kiss them.

Joe is the newest member married into the family. We're sure glad he decided to tie the knot with Tif! They are expecting their first! We're so excited for them.

Look at these two handsome guys. I sure love them both.

This is Mom and daughter before getting baptized. You can tell where she got her cute looks from. You take one look at this hot Mama and there is no way she looks like she just had a baby a few months back. She looks amazing.

We had a wonderful weekend spending time with family and friends. I love times like this.

Valentines Fun!

I know, I know.....you're thinking....isn't it March and didn't we just pass St. Patrick's Day? Well, perhaps that's true but I'm a month behind. There were a lot of wonderful things that happened in the month of February and I can't pass them up. So...

Samuel and I made Valentines cookies this year and gave them to our neighbors and friends. Like always he enjoyed eating the dough and making his own cookie shapes which looked more like squishy lumps of grossness (I know that's not a word but it really should be).

As you might notice, Samuel is wearing his "love" shirt since I thought it to be quite fitting for the occasion.

I felt like being creative this year and decided to pull out my decorating tips, edible pearls, and edible silver spray paint. They not only looked pretty but were ooooooh soooooo goooood! I have to thank my sister Cindy for the heavenly delicious recipe.
